The American Dream’s arrival to New York was highly-anticipated. The Garden was completely sold out, and several thousand fans also viewed the showdown at the Felt Forum via closed circuit television.

Rhodes would main-event twice at Madison Square Garden, both appearances in title challenges against The Superstar. After this initial Rhodes’ victory, Graham would win a Texas Death Rules re-match on October 24th.

Rhodes, based comfortably in the Florida territory, would continue to make sporadic appearances for Vince McMahon, Sr. and the then-World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) until 1981.
