TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… DEC 6th: JR’s Live Health Scare

DATELINE: DEC. 6, 1998 – LONDON ARENA – LONDON, ENGLAND

World Wrestling Federation play-by-play announcer Jim Ross suffers a Bells Palsy attack while calling the Capital Carnage event in the United Kingdom.

Ross had been previously diagnosed with the condition on January 30, 1994, and he suffered an aggravated attack just days after his mother had sadly passed away. Doctors theorized the stress caused by his grief is what triggered the incident.

Ross would not call a match again until six months later at Wrestlemania XV.
