TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… JAN 14th: Sid’s Leg Injury is Vicious

DATELINE: JAN 14, 2001 – CONSECO FIELDHOUSE – INDIANAPOLIS, IN

In the four-way main event at the WCW Sin pay-per-view, Scott Steiner retains the WCW World Heavyweight title, but that isn’t the story of the night.

Sid Vicious would suffer a horrific injury, when he breaks his leg in two places. While the camera shot of the occurrence wasn’t shown live on the original PPV broadcast, it was aired the next night on Monday Nitro.

The footage continues to be watched by newer fans today as an example of some professional wrestling’s worst injuries.
