TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… Jan 23rd: Duggan Heads North

DATELINE: JAN 23, 1987 – JACKSON, MS

One Man Gang defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a Loser Leaves UWF match.

With the loss, Duggan and Terry Taylor were also forced to vacate the UWF World Tag Team Championship.

In storyline, Duggan was forever banished from the company; in reality, it was a convenient way to write him off of UWF television. Hacksaw would emerge in the World Wrestling Federation shortly thereafter, where he would go on to his biggest commercial and mainstream success.
