TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… MARCH 13th: A Sad Turn at Victory Road

DATELINE: MAR 13, 2011 – THE IMPACT ZONE – ORLANDO, FL

Sting defeats Jeff Hardy in just 88 seconds to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The match is marred by the fact that Hardy is in no condition to perform, but is sent out to finish the pay-per-view anyway.

Eric Bischoff comes out to explain everything and starts the match, the two men tussled briefly until Sting hits the Deathdrop for a quick victory. Hardy was summarily suspended from TNA Wrestling following the incident.

After attending treatment for addiction, making a wrestling comeback and eventually re-signing with WWE in 2017, Hardy was recently arrested for suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated over this past weekend. How it affects his status with the company going forward is unknown.
