DATELINE: MAY 6, 1984 – TEXAS STADIUM – IRVING, TX

Kerry Von Erich defeats Ric Flair in front of 43,000 people at Texas Stadium to win the NWA World Heavyweight title in memory of his fallen brother, David.

David Von Erich, who had originally been lined up for the shot at Flair, had passed away in Japan three months earlier. The event in his honor, The David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions, drew a record turnout to see Kerry achieve the family dream, and capture one of the most emotional victories of all time.
