TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… DEC 11th: Triple H ‘wins’ the European Title

DATELINE: DEC 11, 1997 – LOWELL AUDITORIUM – LOWELL, MA


At a RAW is WAR taping, Triple H defeated Shawn Michaels to win the WWF European Championship.

Then-WWF commissioner Sgt. Slaughter had ordered a match between the two members of D-Generation X, as he had grown tired of their antics.  In response, the pair made a mockery of the decision, as Michaels simply laid down for Helmsley.
