DATELINE: JULY 1, 1991 – ATLANTA, GA


WCW President Jim Herd strips Ric Flair of the company’s World Heavyweight Title, after he departs for the World Wrestling Federation while still the reigning champion.

Flair would actually appear on the rival’s television shows with his version of the WCW title (the big gold belt), while Lex Luger would soon assume the mantle of the company’s new titleholder at the upcoming Great American Bash.
