DATELINE: JULY 20TH, 1973 – HOUSTON, TX


45 years ago today, Jack Brisco defeats Harley Race to win his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship in Houston, TX.

He would hold the belt for exactly 500 days in his first reign. He would capture the vaunted Ten Pounds of Gold for a second time, in late 1974.
