TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… MAY 13th: Windham wins the US title for the Horsemen


After turning on Lex Luger and joining the Four Horsemen, Barry Windham finds singles success by capturing the US Heavyweight title, defeating Nikita Koloff in the finals of a tournament in Houston, Texas.

As a member of the Horsemen, Windham would don a black glove and embrace many of the mannerisms of his father, Blackjack Mulligan, including using the claw hold. He would dominate as US champion, reigning for nine months and battling the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Bam Bam Bigelow, Lex Luger and Sting:
