TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… MAY 15th: Triple H wrestles his first match on RAW

DATELINE: MAY 15, 1995 – BROOME COUNTY ARENA – BINGHAMTON, NY

Hunter Hearst Helmsley wrestles his debut match on the WWF’s flagship show, looking and sounding quite a bit different than he does today

The match was part of a pair of TV tapings, and would eventually air on the May 22nd episode of Monday Night RAW. In his bout, Helmsley defeated John Crystal, while sporting his ‘blue blood’ gimmick.

By 1998, he had fully shed the snobbish heel role, as well as his phony accent, and began simply going by his initials while part of D-Generation X.
