TODAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY… OCT. 10th: Heroes Of Wrestling goes Horribly Wrong

DATELINE: OCT. 10, 1999 – CASINO MAGIC COMPLEX –  BAY ST. LOUIS, MS

A company called Fosstone Productions presents Heroes of Wrestling, an event featuring several legendary performers from the past.

2,300 were reportedly in attendance, with only 29,000 homes watching on PPV. Those who did invest in the show were highly disappointed, as the subpar production and slow in-ring action were trumped only by a trainwreck of a main event. Jake Roberts in the ring appeared visibly impaired and a scheduled singles bout was turned into a tag match featuring King Kong Bundy, Yokozuna and Jim Neidhart
