The Legion of Doom (Animal and Hawk, previously known as the Road Warriors) defeated The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags, with Jimmy Hart in their corner) in a Street Fight to win the WWF Tag Team Championships.

With the win at SummerSlam, Hawk and Animal became the only team to hold the AWA, NWA and WWF Tag Team Championships. Their place in history was secured by achieving the trifecta.
