Reigning WWF champion Bret Hart officially signs with WCW, leading to the historic and controversial events that would surround his departure from the WWF.

Hart would, of course, fall victim to the infamous “Montreal Screwjob” at The Survivor Series later in the month. He would emerge in WCW a few weeks later, in the buildup to Starrcade.
